Clinical Medical Assistants provide medical care and treatment, educate patients about their health, and provide emotional support to patients and families. Medical assistants work in hospitals, schools, clinics or at community health centers. They work under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serve as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. Medical Assistants may specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups.
